Friday saw 2 Te Mahia school teams, one junior and
senior team (10 tamariki in each) travel to Wairoa to partake in a Rippa
Tournament at Lambton Square. Our tamariki played teams from Nuhaka, Kura
Kaupapa, Wairoa Primary, and Frasertown. Both teams
did extremely well winning some games, drawing others and losing by close
margins. The senior team found their flow throughout the day, their last game
being their best performance of the day. The junior team did extremely well
especially as it was a first playing Rippa for some of our younger tamariki. Ka
mau te wehi ngā tamariki o
te kura o Te Mahia!!
Thank you to parents who came and supported our
tamariki, cheering them on from the sidelines. A big thank you also to Matua
Bernie, Wiggy and Anthony for coaching our Rippa teams on the day.
Definitely a great way to end the week and
begin the long Queen's birthday weekend!
