Measurement Learning

The Moros and Crunchies have been learning how to calculate the area of a shape. Do you think you can solve the problem with Room 1 needing new carpet and how many squared metres we would need to order?

Te Mahia School Value of Excellence

Jack Delaney was away from school last Friday. He managed to get his home learning for the week completed and then emailed it to me on Friday. Jack chose to bake a banana cake, organise a raffle and donate the proceeds to St John. Here is his letter…

To Mr Stephen Smith,
District Operations Manager, Central Region of St John. My name is Jack Delaney and I go to Te Mahia School. One of our home learning tasks for the term is to fundraise for a cause. I chose to fundraise for St John because my mum is a volunteer at Mahia station. I baked a banana cake and sold tickets. Please find enclosed my money I raised.

Yours Sincerely
Jack Delaney

It was a really cool task to complete, a fantastic charity to support and the icing on the cake was the fact Jack was away from school but still completed his task. Ka mau te wehi!

Ivory Goes To Town

Oh my gosh Ivory, what an exciting day you had today. Kelly and Aunty Les said your behaviour was out of this world. I heard your day started at Wairoa College in the cooking room. I know you are a good cook because I have seen you at work in the staffroom. Then you walked down to the gym where you had your very own personal trainer. Imagine how big your muscles are going to be? And a swim in the Community Centre to finish the day off. I hope you enjoy next Monday just as much!!!
