Nga Pukorero - Interschool Speech Competition

On Thursday Kalani and Brady represented Te Mahia School at the Wairoa District Speech competition. It was a day that emulated high standards as all of the speeches were excellent. It is an amazing achievement to get that far as only two students could be selected. Kalani delivered her speech on Maoritanga and what it means to her. A lot of thought had gone into the content and the presentation was clear, concise and interesting to listen to. Brady chose to do her speech on ANZAC Day - we will remember them. I know her Pop would be extremely proud of his moko and how she shone on the day. Brady really impressed me with the level of effort she put into rehearsing and getting her cue cards down to almost non-existent. Not many people can talk for 4 minutes without notes in front of them. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and am so proud of both ladies. An enormous congratulations to Kalani who won the Junior division on the day!!! Watch out for their video to be uploaded in a day or two(the weather wont let me do it today).
