Here is an example of an iconic Kiwi band advertising their performances. Think about 'Kahu Gets What He Wants,' and also the language of advertising. How can you best advertise and sell this performance to the wider community?
LEARNING TASK - Create an advertisement for Te Mahia Schools performance, 'Kahu Gets What He Wants.'
CRITERIA…
1. All details needed and included on the poster (WHO, WHEN, WHERE etc).
2. Language of advertising is evident. e.g. 'Don't miss out on this spectacular performance!'
3. Use of colour, borders, spacing, block lettering is thought about.
4. Poster is easily read and interpreted - clear for the audience.

Maori Calendar Song - Maramataka Lyrics On Screen
Thanks for the introduction Anthony - you are always confident and clear when you talk in front of the entire school. Was awesome to hear about your Te Reo learning. I love waiata when it comes to learning something new - seems to work for my brain. Ka mau te wehi Room 1

Daffodil Day at Te Mahia School - Friday 29th August 2014
Wow!! What a fun day we had on Friday for Daffodil Day. We participated by dressing up in yellow and giving a gold coin donation that will be given to the Cancer Society. It was so good to see the creative effort the children went to, to ensure they wore a yellow item. There were yellow shirts, dresses, pants, wigs, hard hats, lei's, and bumblebees.. We all had an amazing day to support a wonderful cause.
Te Mahia School raised over $120.00 to help the Cancer Society.
Ka mau te wehi koutou katoa!!

Duffy Theatre
This
year Duffy and his friend Rosie are excitedly awaiting a visit from Duffy’s
famous, rugby league playing uncle, Bingo. They are taken aback however when
they begin to learn that Bingo isn’t a big fan of books and maybe can’t read at
all! With ideas from the audience and Duffy’s King of Colours book, the
pair go on a journey to help Bingo learn the importance of reading and the
benefits it can have for everyone, everywhere. Together, Duffy and Rosie
sing and stumble their way through to the realisation that everyone has a
different favourite story and that each person’s story is just as awesome as
the next.
This
was such a fantastic treat, our children were a fabulous audience and hopefully
they took away the key message of reading material that you are interested in
and authors you enjoy.
