Tamariki
have begun their own inquiries selecting their own topics. They were given an
inquiry planner template and guided through the processes involved in planning
their inquiry. They all have excellent topics that they want to research and
further investigate. These topics were negotiated with the teacher then the
tamariki had to write down what they know about the topic, what they think they
know and what they want to find out? They had to write down one question about
their topic that they want to know, this question will form the basis of their
inquiry learning. They will soon realize that their one key question will bring
about subsidiary questions and they will discover a whole lot of exciting
information, answering their wonderings. So whānau ask your tamaiti/tamariki
about their topic for inquiry and get them to explain what they have been doing
and why.
I can’t
wait to see the final presentation in a couple of weeks!
