Welcome to Room 1's blog. We are a Year 4-8 class at Te Mahia School situated on the Mahia peninsula. This year looks to be bigger and brighter than ever. Our teachers are Miss Kereru each day until 12pm. Then Miss O'B from 12pm until home time. We are a dedicated bunch of learners who take risks daily and are not afraid of hard work. Check out our class blog to see how Room 1 roll.

Book Character Day
On Thursday 28th March, Te Mahia School celebrated Aotearoa book month by dressing up as their favourite character. We had Ninja's, witches, Hermonie, Darth Vadar, Brian, Wiggles, Little Red Riding Hood, Catwoman and heaps more. Congratulations to Jahson and Dennis who were voted as 'best dressed' for the day. It was sooooooo cool.

Home learning Week 9
Part of this weeks challenge was to create an Easter Egg extravaganza. After hard boiling an egg, students were asked to decorate it any way they wanted and with materials they had at home. Check out Jack Delaney's 'Humpty Dumpty' version. He even created a brick wall for his egg to sit on. Also Kingi who recreated, the 'Easter Bunny.' Way to go people!!!

Te Mahia School Camp
Two days and one night - how very fast it seems to go. It was an absolutely enjoyable time, especially seeing our Year 8 leaders working with their teams. Hopefully you learnt some new knowledge form the korero that happened, enjoyed some of the beach activities and managed to get a little bit of sleep on Wednesday night. An enormous thank you to the parents and whanau that made camp possible - you guys rock!!! So where are we going to next?
